Almost a full year since he passed away from cancer, David Bowie’s music video for “No Plan” debuted on Saturday, January 7, 2017; just one day before what would have been his 70th birthday. It appears as if Mr. Jones is sending the world a direct message from where he went back to.

The “No Plan” video appears to be a direct homage to the film “The Man Who Fell to Earth”. Directed by Tom Hingston, the video follows the screens on several rows of televisions in the store-front window of “Newton Electrical”; (Newton Electrical on Foxgrove Road, alluding to David Bowie’s “The Man Who Fell to Earth” character, Thomas Jerome Newton and the street Bowie lived on in London before he released “Space Oddity”).

“No Plan” is featured on a repackaged stand-alone EP that was released on his birthday with two additional songs, “When I Met You” and “Killing a Little Time”. These three songs were recorded after his last album “Blackstar”. They were to be part of a follow-up release had Bowie not succumbed to his battle with liver cancer.  “Lazarus” by David Bowie from the cast recording release of “Lazarus” is the fourth song on the EP.

Even from beyond, David Bowie is full of magical surprises. Hallo Spaceboy, we’ve been waiting to hear from you.

“Here there’s no music here
I’m lost in streams of sound
Here am I nowhere now?
No plan

Wherever I may go
Just where
Just there
I am

All of the things that are my life
My desires
My beliefs
My moods
Here is my place without a plan

Here
Second Avenue
Just out of view
Here
Is no traffic here?
No plan

All the things that are my life
My moods
My beliefs
My desires
Me alone
Nothing to regret
This is no place, but here I am
This is not quite yet.”
